Why not nominate us as your school's charity

How can your school help?

The Mango Tree has links with a number of UK schools who support and work with us in different ways, through fundraising and volunteering.

Our recent school trip to The Mango Tree's projects in rural Kenya was unforgettable for all of us. The welcome we received was above anything we had expected. The young people from both Kosele and Uppingham gained so much from meeting each other, spending time playing, talking and finding out about each other lives. This experience has been powerful and so valuable for all concerned and I hope these cultural learning trips between our school and The Mango Tree continue.

A BIG THANKYOU to all our UK schools, who last year, raised an amazing £28,000 for The Mango Tree.

The schools fundraising model is really simple, and this year a number of different schools helped put on events, and sponsored activities including a fashion show, supermarket bag pack, auctions, raffles, musical concerts, lunches for parents, a tennis tournament and a fundraising cookbook.

We are very proud of our longstanding partnership with Uppingham School.  Every year Uppingham's 800 students and staff continue to run events and organise challenges which fundraise to support our work. In 2017 nine sixth form boys from Uppingham School's Farleigh House Lower Sixth, alongwith their tutors, carried out a sponsored cycle ride along a route designed to link elements of the life of King Richard III. The boys cycled to Fortheringhay Castle where Richard was born, the site of the Battle of Bosworth where he was killed in 1485 and Leicester Cathedral where he is now buried. Linking these places involved a ride of approximately 80 miles and was completed overnight as a test of stamina and teamwork.

As well as fundraising with schools, we also provide voluteer opportunities and we are able to offer faciliated school visits in Africa.

We would to extend our grateful "thanks" to all our schools for the many wonderful activities which have been run on our behalf - we appreciate everyones efforts. If you feel your school would like to get involved, then why not consider nominating us to be your school's charity? You could invite us give a talk at an assembly to introduce our projects and kick-start your fundraising.
