We are incredibly grateful to Jennifer Saunders, who we recently met at BBC Studios to record the BBC Radio 4 Appeal. You can listen to a little teaser from Jennifer on our YouTube channel.
This appeal features the transformational story of Obina and will raise funds to continue providing educational scholarships for disadvantaged girls who attend The Mango Tree Girl’s school. Over 80% of the girls at the school have previously experienced gender-based violence. The school now provides a safe space to learn, heal and thrive. You can watch a 3-minute film on our YouTube page about our work empowering girls and women, featuring The Mango Tree Kenya’s fantastic new Girls’ School.
Our appeal will broadcast after Christmas on 29th December at 7:54 am and 9:25 pm, and then again on 2nd January at 3:27 pm (GMT).

After our first broadcast on the 29th December you can make a donation for 7 days
- Online via the BBC Radio 4 Appeal
- By calling 0800 404 8144 to donate by phone
- Write a cheque to The Mango Tree and send it to Freepost BBC Radio 4 Appeal. Please mark the back of your envelope with “The Mango Tree”.
From all of us at The Mango Tree, we wish you and your loved ones a merry and magical Christmas.
As always, we thank you for your continued support and generosity and wish you a joyful Christmas.
