Women’s Enterprise Project
Our Women’s Enterprise Project empowers young women who dropped out of school, mainly due to early pregnancy, by providing them with access to local apprenticeship and work experience opportunities, business training, enterprise kickstart kits and loans. We collaborate with local businesses who provide placements and in-house training in a range of industry sectors such as tailoring, agricultural production/ processing, hospitality, tourism, hairdressing and beauty therapies and catering.
We are delighted to have raised £40,578 in online donations that enabled us to receive matched funding of £20,000 from The Coles-Medlock Foundation and £20,000 from our donor pledge fund – giving us an amazing total of £80,578! The Gift Aid we will also receive from these donations is a further £9,657, giving us a grand total of £90,235! This will pay for vocational training placements, in-house training, accredited business training and business starter kits for hundreds of women in Kenya and Malawi.
